Voorzitter Merel bijker

Hoi hoi! Ik ben Merel en mag dit jaar voorzitter zijn van de symposiumcommissie. Ik ben er om meetings te leiden en ik houd het overzicht (daar doe ik althans een poging toe), zodat we dit jaar weer een super interessant symposium kunnen neerzetten!

Ik ben 19 jaar en zit in mijn tweede jaar BMT. Naast mijn studie vind ik het sinds kort leuk om te basketballen bij Arriba en zwem ik af en toe. Verder hou ik ontzettend van spelletjes en ben ik elke woensdag op de borrel te vinden met mijn dispuut MSCS.

Hopelijk hebben jullie net zo veel zin in het symposium als ik, dan zie ik jullie daar!

Hi hi!
I am Merel and this year I get to be the chair of the symposium committee. I am here to lead meetings and keep an overview (or at least I try to), so that we can put together another super interesting symposium this year!

I am 19 years old and in my second year of BMT. Besides my studies, I recently have started enjoying playing basketball at Arriba and I swim occasionally. I also really love games and can be found at the drinks every Wednesday with my fraternity MSCS.

Hopefully, you are just as excited for the symposium as I am, see you there!

Secretaris Froukje van Amstel

Hii! Mijn naam is Froukje en ik ben momenteel tweedejaars Biomedische Technologie. Dit jaar vervul ik binnen de symposiumcommissie de rol van secretaris en commissaris draaiboek. Dat betekent dat ik mij onder andere bezighoud met de communicatie richting de opleiding en het opstellen van de planning voor de dag zelf.
In mijn vrije tijd houd ik van dansen en zwemmen, en als ik de kans krijg, klim ik graag. Ook ben ik vaak te vinden in de Paradoks kamer, waar ik graag een praatje maak of gewoon even kom relaxen.
Ik kijk ernaar uit om jullie te zien op het symposium!

Hi! My name is Froukje, and I’m currently a second-year Biomedical Engineering student. This year, I’m part of the symposium committee, where I serve as secretary and program coordinator. This means I’m responsible for communication with the department and for creating the schedule for the symposium day.

In my free time, I enjoy dancing and swimming, and whenever I get the chance, I love to go climbing. You can also find me in the Paradoks room, where I like to chat or just relax for a bit.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the symposium!

Penningmeester Silke Poel

Heehoi!! Ik ben Silke en ik ben nu alweer derdejaars TG-student! Dit jaar ben ik de penningmeester van de symposiumcommissie en pas ik dus op het geld. Het leek me hartstikke leuk dit jaar de symposiumcommissie te doen om een keer wat groots gerelateerd aan mijn studie neer te zetten. Naast deze commissie en heb ik afgelopen jaar de PKIC gedaan en ben ik ook op andere manieren actief in het studentenleven. Zo speel ik trompet bij SHOT en ga ik zo af en toe een beetje tennissen bij Ludica.

Ik kijk nu al ontzettend uit naar het symposium, tot dan!

Hey there!! I’m Silke and I’m now in my third year of TG ! This year I am the treasurer of the symposium committee, so I take care of the money. I thought it would be really fun to join the symposium committee to organize something big related to my studies. Besides this committee, I was part of the PKIC last year and have been involved in different parts of student life as well. For example, I play the trumpet in SHOT and occasionally go play some tennis at Ludica.

Sprekerscoördinator Bo Berkhout

Heehoi! Mijn naam is Bo, 3e jaars Technische Geneeskunde, en ik ben de sprekerscoördinator van de symposiumcommissie 2026. Dit houdt in dat ik alle toffe sprekers voor jullie aan het uitzoeken ben om een super interessant symposium neer te zetten!

Naast studeren vind ik het erg leuk om te hockeyen bij DHC en af en toe te zwemmen. Ook houd ik ervan om tijd door te brengen met m’n vrienden, huisgenoten en dispuutsgenoten.

Ik heb in elk geval veel zin in komend symposium en ik hoop jullie ook! Tot dan!

Hey there! My name is Bo, I’m a third-year Technical Medicine student, and I’m the speakers coordinator for the 2026 symposium committee. This means I’m in charge of finding all the amazing speakers for you to make it a super interesting symposium!

Besides studying, I really enjoy playing hockey at DHC and occasionally going for a swim. I also love spending time with my friends, housemates, and fraternity members.

PR commissaris Julia Steen

Hee hee! Ik ben Julia, 1e jaars masterstudent TG en dit jaar de PR-commissaris. Alle promo rondom het symposium, van posters en insta posts tot deze website, mag ik in elkaar knutselen. Daarmee hoop ik jullie enthousiast te maken voor het symposium en ervoor te zorgen dat jullie alle informatie hebben om er een geweldige dag van te maken.

In mijn vrije tijd schaats ik graag rondjes op de ijsbaan met Skeuvel, loop ik bij mooi weer af en toe hard en ben ik te vinden bij de bodypump-klasjes. Verder breng ik graag tijd door met mijn vrienden, huisgenootjes en dispuutsgenootjes, het liefst met een heerlijk kopje thee.

Ik hoop jullie allemaal te zien op het symposium! En laat vooral weten als er vragen zijn.

Hey hey! I’m Julia, a first-year master’s student in Technical Medicine and this year’s PR Commissioner. I’m responsible for all the promotion of the symposium from posters and insta posts to this website. My goal is to get you excited for the symposium and make sure you have all the information you need for an amazing day.

In my free time, I love skating laps at the ice rink with skeuvel, going for a run when the weather’s nice, and joining bodypump classes. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, housemates, and fraternity mates preferably with a nice cup of tea.

Extern Femke Reijs

Hey hey, ik ben Femke 3e jaars TG’er en dit jaar commissaris externe betrekkingen. Voor de symposium commissie hou ik mij samen met Thijn bezig met het contact met bedrijven en sponsoren. Dit zodat de penningmeester zich geen zorgen hoeft te maken over geld, maar ook zodat jullie leuke bedrijven kunnen meeten op de bedrijvenmarkt.

Zelf ben ik naast mijn studie, ook actief bij S.V. Paradoks waar ik bijvoorbeeld al eens de introductie dagen heb georganiseerd of als bestuur bij mijn korfbalvereniging S.K.V. Vakgericht. Daarnaast vind ik het erg gezellig om spelletjes te spelen in mijn vrije tijd.

Together with Thijn, I’m responsible for maintaining contact with companies and sponsors for the symposium committee. This way, the treasurer doesn’t have to worry about the finances, and you’ll also get the chance to meet some great companies at the career fair.

Besides my studies, I’m active in S.V. Paradoks for example, I’ve helped organize the introduction days and as board of my korfball club, S.K.V. Vakgericht. In my free time, I really enjoy playing games with friends.

Extern Thijn den Boer

Hoi! Ik ben Thijn en ben een derdejaars Technische Geneeskunde student. Dit jaar ben ik samen met Femke commissaris externe betrekkingen. Dus samen zoeken wij naar sponsoren, die o.a. op de bedrijvenmarkt komen staan voor jullie.

Naast al dat studeren, vind ik erg leuk om lekker sportief bezig te zijn, zoals een balletje trappen of wandelen in de bergen. Ook sta ik een aantal keer per week met een hockeystick in mijn handen op DHC.

Hopelijk hebben jullie net zo veel zin in het symposium als ik en zie ik jullie daar!

Hi! I’m Thijn, a third-year Technical Medicine student. This year, I’m the Commissioner of External Relations together with Femke. Together, we’re looking for sponsors, some of whom will also be present at the career fair for you.

Besides all the studying, I really enjoy being active — whether that’s kicking a ball around or hiking in the mountains. You can also find me a few times a week on the hockey field at DHC.
